Preamplifier for tracking meteorological sondes
I build a preamplifier for receiving meteorological sondes. The bandwith of
the amplifier depends on the filter, we used. With the RF1419D filter,
this is 400 to 406 MHz. The amplifier can be powered via the coaxial
cable so you can use the BiasTee function of AIRSPY or RTL-SDR V3
receivers.
The construction is quite simple. The L1 stripline
protects against static voltage peaks. On the top side of the board
there are the SMD components, and relays populated on the other side.
The prototype was made for the 403 MHz band, but
this preamplifier can also be used for the 432 MHz band after changing
the filter. Filters for the 70 cm amateur band can be TA2209A, TA2320A
or similar, depending on the frequency we want to use..
